Privacy Policy

This Data Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets out the basis on which Wildlife Rescue Center (“WRC Jogja”, “WRC”, “we”, or “us”) may collect, use, disclose, or process your personal data in accordance with Undang-Undang 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (“PDPA”) of Indonesia. This Privacy Policy applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organizations that we have engaged to collect, use, disclose, or process personal data for such purposes as have been notified.

Information We Need

WRC Jogja collects and uses User Data so that the WRC Jogja Platform can be used for its intended purpose, to support performance efficiency, and to improve the quality of this online service.

The Platform Data that we collect includes Personal Data, Metadata, and other information that the User provides directly or that is collected automatically due to the use of the WRC Jogja Platform. Data submitted by the User independently, including but not limited to submission to the process:

  • Communication through the support service (Contact Us);
  • Completing surveys sent by WRC Jogja;
  • Collection of data required when performing Donation activities, such as full name, email address, cell phone number, and/or other additional information requested if the Donor uses payment methods with bank transfer services, virtual accounts (“VA”), debit/credit cards, and electronic wallets registered with Bank Indonesia;
  • Collection of documents required at the time of special cooperation, including but not limited to written agreements made separately with this Privacy Policy; and/or
  • Data is collected automatically when the User uses the WRC Jogja Platform, such as, internet protocol address (IP Address), geolocation, operating system, and browser version of the device you use to access the WRC Jogja Platform, data traffic, site records, and other communication data.
  • Other data usage is used for internal purposes of WRC Jogja.

Use of Information

As there are many circumstances in which we may collect information, we will endeavor to ensure that you are always aware of information collected, in particular by third parties. We generally do not collect your personal data unless,

  • The data is provided to us voluntarily by you directly or through a third party who has been authorized by you to disclose your personal data to us after (i) you (or your authorized representative) have been informed of the purposes for which the data is being collected, and (ii) you (or your authorized representative) have given your consent to the collection and use of your personal data for those purposes, or
  • Collection and use of personal data without consent required by the PDPA or other laws.

The use and storage of Data will be carried out by WRC Jogja in accordance with the provisions of applicable law.

Data, including User Personal Data, will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as long as such retention is required or permitted by applicable laws and regulations. WRC Jogja will stop storing Personal Data as soon as it is deemed that the purpose of collecting and storing such Personal Data is no longer required for the purpose of the WRC Jogja Platform service or by law.

Right of Access and Request for Amendment to Personal Data

The user has the right to access User’s Personal Data stored on our Platform by submitting an access request through [email protected]

The User also has the right to change the Personal Data stored, such as email address (email), cell phone number, by submitting such notification and other information required by WRC Jogja through [email protected]

Changes to the Data Privacy Policy

WRC Jogja from time to time and at its sole discretion, may change this Privacy Policy. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your consent. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Page.

Tojeiro volunteered at WRC in 2018 and instantly fell in love. He decided to leave his job in the Netherlands to work alongside our keepers, managing projects and making sure all the animals get the best care possible.
