Story About Us

General information about WRC Jogja

When was WRC Jogja established?

We have been running as a wildlife centre since 2003. At 2010, we have ran under YKAY (Yogyakarta Natural Conservation Foundation) as a NGO and not-for-profit.

Can I make a one-day visit to the centre?

WRC Jogja is a rehabilitation center for injured animals and confiscated animals. Unlike the zoo, our goals are to release the animals. In addition to reducing the risk of zoonoses, we minimize them to meet people’s needs. We are also doing this to restore their natural behavior. For any other purposes, please contact us via email at [email protected]

What challenges do you face?

How do you work with the government?

Where can I get the latest news and upcoming activities about the WRC?

I found animals near my area. Can you check and rescue them to get better wildlife?

WRC Jogja doesn’t have a rescue team. We cooperated with BKSDA (Conservation and natural resource center) to rescue them. Please contact directly to www.bksdajogja.org or call center at 0274-864203.

I don’t have time to travel and visit your centre but I still want to help the animals.

Please visit and click donate or click adoption to help the centre, or click the wish list if you want to donate our needs.

Tojeiro volunteered at WRC in 2018 and instantly fell in love. He decided to leave his job in the Netherlands to work alongside our keepers, managing projects and making sure all the animals get the best care possible. During the relocation period, Tojeiro studied animal health management to increase his capacity in the field of animal welfare.
